Specific features of pharmaceutical technologies in French overseas territories
3 October 2024
Dr Christophe Padoin, University Hospital of Martinique, FrancePharmaceutical technology in the French overseas territories is subject to the same obligations as in France, but is organized differently to cope with the difficulties encountered and the characteristics of the patients.
The constraints of remoteness accentuate day-to-day supply problems. They also mean that we are moving towards a transfer of skills to users for equipment maintenance.
Climatic conditions require us to be particularly vigilant in controlling temperatures and hygrometry, which are major factors in ensuring the quality of preparations and acceptable working conditions.
Our common goal is to develop high-quality pharmaceutical technology that meets the requirements of Good Preparation Practices for the benefit of patients, to provide training for hospital pharmacy residents and pharmacy technician, and to develop research activities.
