Session 1: Content-container Interactions
_University hospital Clermont-Ferrand – ICCF UMR 6296 CNRS University Clermont Auvergne
This workshop aims to help unravel the different problems that can be caused by content-container interactions affecting pharmaceutical hospital preparations, throughout their life-cycle, from their manufacturing to their administration to the patient. During the first part of the session the participants will be updated with the state of scientific knowledge about these interactions, about the factors that are susceptible to influence them and about the clinical consequences they can induce. The second half of the workshop will be founded on problem based learning: the participants will be invited, through multiple examples, to identify interactions and then suggest solutions to control or eliminate them completely. Various packaging and medical devices will be available to help better understand and visualize the different materials that could cause interaction problems. At the end of the workshop, the information will be summarized and the participants will be able to check their progress with a quiz.
The workshop is destined to all Pharmacists implicated in the compounding and good use of pharmaceutical preparations.
